The Impact Series is made up of two modules: Part One – The Program Evaluation Plan; and Part Two – The Continual Improvement Plan.

In this section of Steward Development, participants are taught appropriate ways to measure the effectiveness of the “Destiny Drivers” that were initiated earlier in the course – concepts, events and projects initiated to achieve shared community goals. These measurements lead to overall improvement, a key to increasing the overall impact of the Stewardship Plan.

Part 1: The Program Evaluation Plan

This part of the series deals with community impact reporting, trending, and improving the ongoing processes of change. It offers an overview of methods that can be used to track community stewardship performance. Techniques such as community surveys can not only provide feedback on existing efforts, but also help assess where improvements can be made. Participants will also learn how to use impact reporting in concert with their efforts to “create a buzz.”

Specific topics covered include:

• Surveys
• Focus groups
• Feedback

By the end of this section, participants will be able to choose or develop surveys, utilize focus groups and create community feedback reports.

Part 2: The Continual Improvement Plan

Part two of this session focuses on reclaiming your destiny. It walks stewards through a process that they can then use within their communities to ensure they are pointed in the right direction. This community forum provides the opportunity to pause and reflect on the group’s shared destiny, concepts agreed upon earlier in the process of positive change.

Some of the activities in this portion of Steward Development are:

• Reviewing and updating Destiny Drivers
• Identifying gaps and changes in community needs assessment
• Identifying & communicating ideas for an updated community stewardship plan
  

The final result is a re-commitment to community improvement and the Destiny Driver goals. Stewards and communities return to work on their projects renewed and refreshed.

Learning, Improving and Encouraging Growth

The Impact Series is designed to provide support and evaluation for a community’s stewards and their Destiny Drivers. By learning from mistakes, improvements can be made. By recognizing changes, focus can be maintained. By remaining diligent and flexible, the seeds of growth can be nurtured and encouraged, resulting in goals that are achieved and potential that is attained.
